Fargesia China Girl
Fargesia China Girl is a clump-forming and therefore non-invasive bamboo.
Its natural size is compact for a fargesia. The new noses also shoot up fairly close to the old culms in late spring.
This hardy, but also very evergreen, narrow-leafed bamboo has proven in February 2021 (also young plants) to be able to resist some (late) winter sun in combination with (moderate) frost and dry hard wind. A test for ornamental value, also in winter. The fresh mid-green leaves provide a nice contrast with the dark red - purple branches. Hardly leaf rolling.
